Walt Spitzmiller was one of the world's foremost sporting artists. His work is widely held by museums, private and corporate collectors. His work encompasses a diversity of sports including Golf, Hunting and Fishing, Baseball, the American Rodeo, African and North American Wildlife and Thoroughbred Racing. Beyond Sporting Art, Walt completed many commissioned works for private individuals (Friends and Family Portraiture) that hang in private homes around the world.
For more than 30 years, he was been devoted to capturing the spirit of the game of golf, its famous players and historic moments. His original works are owned by such greats such as Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Tom Watson and Lee Trevino and virtually every contemporary golfer of note.
Each year The PGA Tour commissioned Walt to create original paintings of the recipients of their lifetime achievement awards, including Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and president George H.W. Bush.
